Your Body mass index helps you determine if you need to lose weight.
Body mass index (BMI) is a measurement based on a formula that takes into account your weight and height in determining whether you have a healthy or unhealthy percentage of body fat.
A BMI under 18.5 indicates that you are underweight, 18.5 to 24.9 is considered a healthy range, 2.5 to 29.9 indicates overweight, and 30 or greater means you’re obese.
The BMI is a helpful guide, but it’s not perfect. For example, muscle weighs more than fat, and many people who are very muscular and physically fit have high BMI’s without added health risks.
